CENTRAL: ONE Pin Oak (T221)(ht.7m) FELL. Reason: to facilitate construction of temporary access track for Nature + Love project (ref planning permission DC/23/130987 & DC/24/135693), to enable the track to be away from more mature higher value trees, as shown in the submitted Addendum to Arboricultural Method Statement dated 3 February 2025 (ref DC/24/136005, condition 10-Tree Protection Plan) and as replacement tree planting details submitted 24 February 2025 for 1x semi-mature standard, large canopy species, planted near the original location of Pin Oak (T221), replacement species to be selected from: Alnus x spaethii, Fagus orientalis, Tilia mongolica, Quercus palustris, Sorbus torminalis, Ginkgo biloba. Reason: minor pruning of lateral branches may be required to prevent mechanical damage from the construction vehicles.CENTRAL: ONE Oak (T224)(ht.15m) LATERAL REDUCE by approx.0.5m-1m. Reason: minor pruning of lateral branches to be avoided for this highly significant tree if possible by using other means to prevent mechanical damage from the construction vehicles.Informative A: the care to align the access track away from the visually significant mature oak (T224) and use of adequate ground protection from construction vehicles across Root Protection Areas (RPAs) to avoid detriment to tree health and the Horniman Gardens landscape is hugely welcomed. Informative B: avoid pruning wounds to mature oak (T224) if at all possible by alternative tree protection methods to enable construction vehicles to pass without causing branch damage.Informative C: the replacement tree details for Pin Oak (T221) received from agent on 24.2.25 are greatly appreciated. Informative D: please create habitat log piles with arisings from (T221) for wildlife and biodiversity.
