Description
T4 ? Oak (Remove) T6 - Oak (Remove) T16 ? Oak (Remove) Vegetation T4 - Oak stands on an unmanaged patch of land adjacent to the policyholder property as per the site plan. T6 & T16 belong to AVONDALE MOBILE HOME PARK which is adjacent to the policyholder property - see site plan.Trial pit / borehole 1 was sunk to the rear of the property, to a depth of 3 metres, which confirmed the foundations to be 2 metres deep, sitting on a concrete footing. The soil descriptions were described as being firm/stiff brown clay with rare medium gravel. Roots were discovered from the nearby vegetation to a depth of 3 metres coming from Quercus (Oak) species. Trial pit / borehole 2 was sunk to the right side of the property, to a depth of 3 metres, which confirmed the foundations to be 2 metres deep, sitting on a concrete footing. The soil descriptions were described as being firm/stiff brown clay with rare medium gravel. Roots were discovered from the nearby vegetation to a depth of 3 metres coming from a shrub species. The clay soil was confirmed to be desiccated and within a high plasticity soil, we can therefore confirm the influence of the nearby vegetation as the cause of movement to the house. Due to the large amount of vegetation located close to the house we instructed an arborist report to confirm which vegetation is implicated. The Arborist confirmed which vegetation needs to be removed. We also set up a period of monitoring which confirms movement consistent with subsidence. The CCTV survey of the drainage system confirms no defects and can therefore rule out leaking drains as the cause of movement. 1 - The tree works are proposed to stop the influence of the vegetation on the soil below building foundation level and provide long term stability.2 - Estimated costs of repair to the building are ?20,800.40 if the proposed tree works are allowed to proceed and it will be a minimum of ?30,000.00 more if the influence of the vegetation remain.3 - Should the vege...
