Beeches do not react well to significant cuts ( into heart wood ), but do reduce rather well under sympathetic conditions.T1 Beech - Under old terminology I would recommend a 20% reduction in the canopy, equating to 3m from the height and up to 2m on the longer laterals with the majority of cuts being no greater than 50mm to a suitable growth point. (Amended)All work is in order to lessen the exposure, stress, and likelihood of failure.
