T1 - Tilia x europaea: Re-pollard. The tree is an old pollard that is too big for its surroundings, with a plethora of structural defects: Included bark unions throughout the canopy entailing up to a 50% strength loss, alongside a cavity at the base which measures an opening of 700x400mm and a depth of >600mm. As the tree diameter at ground level measures 910mm, it means that the t/R ratio is<0.3, or if using the Bartlett formula there is a strength loss of over 25 percent.
