Description
There is a cluster of five ivy covered poplars (T1 - T5) adjacent to a manhole cover in the patch of woodland adjacent to Woodborough Road. The group of trees are on the edge of the woodland and are visible from the road. The trees are located close to the boundary marking the edge of Woodborough Conservation Area. Wessex water has a scheme in Woodborough, Wiltshire where they are excavating around an existing chamber located within a small patch of woodland. The site sits within Woodborough Conservation area, (approximate GR: SU 11016 59876). The excavation will be approximately 320mm deep and is to install a Stakka box which will house one of our meters. The Stakka box is 300mm W x 300mm D x 320mm H. The excavation will be hand dug and will be completed within one day. There is no pruning or removal of trees required however the works are within the RPA of nearby trees. An aboricultural advisor has been consulted regarding these works. They have recommended that an Arboricultural Clerk of Works (ACoW) will be required for these works due to the poplar trees being within close proximity to the excavation works. Wessex Water will implement this and have sought a quote for an arboricultural watching brief for these works. The hand dug excavation will be supervised by the arboricultural advisor for the duration of the works.
