Description

One of the boundaries of the field runs along and borders Broadway Lane, Poulshot. Between Broadway Lane and my field is a linear wooded area. Tree 1 - Ash tree. A large limb of that tree has broken off and is currently hanging on by fibres. The main weight of the limb is carried by a neighbouring tree which it is resting on (see photo 1). The limb needs to be removed to prevent it causing damage to my fence and other trees, and to prevent it causing injury to my family or to people using Broadway Lane when it falls. Tree 2 - Another of the trees is a part trunk of an Ash tree which has grown horizontally at head height (see photo 2). Over the years, various users of Broadway Lane have tied rope to the tree and use it as a rope swing. The tree appears to be sound at the moment, but in 2021, a similar trunk in the same line of trees (but nearer to my house) rotted at the base and fell down without warning. To prevent injury to anyone using the rope swing or walking past when that tree also falls down, it is my proposal to cut back the part of the trunk that is at right angles, or if I find it necessary, to remove the tree. There are also a number of debarked dead ash trees in the wooded area which I am in the process of removing. IIf an officer proposes to visit the location, please let me know and I can put some tape around the two trees to identify them or meet the officer on site.
