Description

Urgent and critical repairs and reinforcements to the basic structure of the barn, in order to return the structural integrity and safety of use.Previous rat infestations, rot and woodworm have decimated the sill beams and lower portions of common posts around 2 side of the barn. Replacement of oak sill beams, like for like, Reinforcement of upright members rather than removals and replacement is proposed, to retain character, look and feel of the heritage building. Minimal replacement work method proposed, Addition of breathable membrane around the barn structure whilst repairs are carried out. Modifications to existing external steps at rear of barn and proposed additional new external steps to the front of the barn. Addition of new internal doors proposed. Further internal refurbishment of the barn to be proposed in a separate application.
