Description
Atlantic Cedar to be reduced back to previous point to retain shape, and keep away from buildings. Two Deodar Cedar to be removed. Given they are potentially huge trees, they are very close to the house and causing extensive shade and potentially damage to the building, this may include subsidence in the future. The larger one of the 2 trees and the one closest to the house has a trifurcated union at the base of the tree with poor form and included unions. This will be an ever increasing problem as the tree grows. Further up the tree, 2 of the main stems have been braced, in my opinion this has caused the stem that's being supported to grow at an unnatural rate due to being supported in such a way, I feel this limb is now top heavy whilst not supporting itself by putting on any reaction growth beneath the bracing point. In my opinion, due to the poor form of this tree and how close they are to the house it would be beneficial to remove the trees and start again with a better formed tree and better positioning as I feel its only time before they start damaging themselves and/or any property. The 2 trees form a mutuality independent crown structure. The smaller of the 2 trees would be dangerously exposed to new wind loads resulting in significantly increased risk of crown breakage and/or windthrow. Replanting has been planned by the customer, species not yet decided but i will recommend a similar native, the trees are to be a decent specimen with good form and replanting will be in occurrence to the new trees potential.
