Description

T1. A mixed group of small trees and large shrubs, around 15 in total, mostly hazel, wild damson and lilac. Around 4 metres in height. These trees were reduced in height around 10 years ago, mostly to prevent them from growing up into the high voltage power lines above. This work now needs to be repeated. Reduce height of the group of trees by between one and two metres, approximately back to the previous pruning cuts, leaving pruning cuts of 50mm max. T2. Mature holly tree. Height 5 metres, crown spread 3 metres. This tree was reduced in height 10 years ago, and has now grown to a point where the pruning needs to be repeated to keep the tree in good proportion with the rest of the garden. Remove several top stems of 1-2 cm width and 1 metre length. Trim remainder of tree to keep it compact. T3. Ornamental flowering cherry tree. Height 5 metres, crown spread 3 metres. Repeat previous height reduction to keep the tree safely below the power cable above, removing around 1 metre in height, leaving pruning cuts of 25mm max. T4. Silver birch. Height 5 metres, crown spread 2 metres. This semi-mature tree is in need of some formative pruning to keep it at a size which is manageable and in good proportion to the rest of the garden and proximity to the house and adjacent footpath. Remove around 1.5 metres from the height and reduce remaining side branches to be in proportion with the new height. Pruning cuts 25mm max.
