Description

T1 - Sycamore - Garden directly in front of cottage. Very close to front elevation and much taller than roof. Casts a lot of shade onto the thatch, encouraging moss growth and damp, accelerating deterioration of the thatch. Consulted tree surgeon. Crown thinning to be carried out (no more than 20%). Modest partial crown reduction of branches closest to the thatch, reducing amount of foliage and allowing more light and air through canopy, reducing shade. Together with ivy removal, should benefit health of tree.
