Application Details
Description
This tree is a non-native gleditsia, situated on the main lawn at the back of our house. It was planted by the original owners in the mid-1980s, who clearly didn t realise how large the tree would be when fully grown. The tree stands uncomfortably close to the house, with the large canopy causing ongoing issues with clogged gutters, resulting in poor drainage. The roots are damaging the surrounding stonework. We would like to fell the tree because of excessive shedding and shading and low amenity value. We will replant with 5 native fruit trees on lower lawn, which will provide a more diverse ecological environment for insects and polinators. 2x apple, 2x plum, 1x cherry.
