Description
A = Ash Tree. Our survey identified tree A as an ash tree which appears to be suffering from Ash Die Back so may need to be felled. It is also very near to both our property and a neighbouring property. The survey also said that There are trees near the building. Trees can cause structural damage. By removing this tree, we hope to reduce the risk of structural damage occurring. (See Picture 1) B and C = Two silver birch trees. Currently they are overgrown and are restricting light into some parts of the garden. We propose crown raising and crown reduction in order to address this issue and maintain the trees in good health. (See Picture 2) For both trees: crown raise to 6m from ground level. Crown reduction to 3m on right-hand (taller) tree. No crown reduction on left-hand tree. Crown thinning of c. 30% on left-hand (bushier) tree. D = This is a beech tree in an adjoining property (51 London Street) where the branches are significantly growing into our property. We propose the removal of 3 lower limbs of the tree, alongside some general crown reduction (if necessary) where the tree is growing into our garden. This will maintain the tree in good shape and let in more light to the garden. It appears this may have been done previously on the other side of the tree as the only limbs at the lower level are in the direction of our garden (but this would be before either current occupant moved in). (See Picture 3) There would be no reduction in the overall height of the tree as we are proposing to work on the tree where it grows into our garden (which is not its peak). The removal of the three lower limbs growing into our garden would crown raise up to 5m from the ground. It would reduce the lateral spread of the tree in the direction of our garden by 3m. E = Finally, this is a birch tree also in an adjoining property (51 London Street). We are proposing to top the tree where it currently grows over into our garden alongside some crown reduction, also where it is growing into our garden, to maintain the health of the tree and let in more light. 3m reduction (height and lateral spread) where the tree has significantly grown into our garden, which is at the top of the tree. Crown raising on our side up to 12m, in line with the guttering of the house (there is only one major branch below this height). Re trees D and E, we have discussed our plans to cut back the trees where they are growing over our property with the owner. We will also notify them before we do so and offer them any cuttings.
