Description
The applicant has recently purchased the property, which contains a number of trees which are overgrown and/or in poor condition. The proposed works are aimed at addressing these issues.T1. Semi-mature Irish yew tree. Height 4 metres, crown spread 1 metre. This tree is growing flush to the property wall and the dividing wall with the neighbour. It has roots that are undermining both walls, a problem that will worsen as the tree continues to grow. Fell to ground level.T2. Mature Lawsons cypress. Height 8 metres, crown spread 3 metres. The applicant is intending to extend the existing garage building out as far as the base of this tree, which will require the removal of the tree. Fell to ground level.T3. Mature Norway spruce. Height 10 metres, crown spread 3 metres. A large but healthy tree which the applicant plans to retain to compensate for the removal of T2. No work proposed.T4. Over-mature Robinia pseudoacacia. Height 9 metres, crown spread 3 metres. This tree appears to be in in terminal age-related decline. The top half of the tree is mostly dead and has several large dead branches overhanging 3 different properties. The lower half of the tree has more healthy growth. The aim of the work is to retain the tree while making it safe. Pollard tree at a height of 5 metres, leaving just a standing trunk to produce regrowth.T5. A row of around 6 mature Leylandii conifers overhanging from the neighbouring property. These overgrown trees have a large number of branches overhanging and encroaching onto the property, causing excessive shading and dropping debris onto the house roof. Cut back all overhang level with the boundary wall between the two properties.T6. Small Cotoneaster tree. Height 3 metres, crown spread 2 metres A poor quality specimen, with distorted growth due to excessive shading from the adjacent conifers. Fell to ground level. T7. Mature Prunus nigra.
