T1 - Silver Birch - Remove subject to retaining 2 to 3 metre high trunkThe mature T1 Silver Birch is positioned within the boundary of 12 Granville Park (applicant) between 12 and 10 Granville Park within the Granville Park Conservation Area. T1 Silver Birch is proximate to the house with significant bough leaning towards and within 2 metres of the house (12 Granville Park). Whilst no structural damage has occurred to date smaller branches have fallen onto the driveway of 10 Granville Park within close proximity of vehicles and within 12 Granville Park. The residents of 10 Granville Park are supportive of the tree's removal to eliminate potential future structural damage to either or both properties. T1 Silver Birch removal would additionally improve light to 10 Granville Park and its side windows and allow lower shrubs and holly trees to prosper.The planning request is to remove the tree subject to leaving a 2 to 3 metre high trunk to support biodiversity.12 Granville Park (also known as 'The Hollies') has a further mature silver birch (T3) at the front of the house, the T2 Manna Ash (see below) and is surrounded by mature hedging and 11 mature Holly trees which over many years have been shaped and at between 3 and 5 metres high are a notable feature of the property clearly visible from the road. Additional lighting from the removal of T1 Silver Birch would enable the holly trees at the side of the property to mature and grow further supporting biodiversity.T2 - Manna Ash - Remove limbs over lawn and hedge and thin Crown by 10-15% to foratively prune any weak, crossing, dead/dying branches to include those over neighbouring property. Similar to works previously performed in 2013 (Ref: T/2013/0054/TCA).For avoidance of doubt no works are planned for silver birch (T3) at the front of property.
