REF: TM/2025/0302/TG PROPOSED WORKS: OAK TREES. T1 & T2: REDUCE OVERALL HEIGHT BY APPROXIMATELY 3 METRES. T1 & T2: REDUCE LATERAL BRANCHES BY APPROXIMATELY 2 METRES. JUSTIFICATION FOR WORKS: THE TREES ARE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 7 METRES FROM THE PROPERTY AND HAVE AN ESTIMATED HEIGHT OF AROUND 40 FT (12 M). THEIR SIZE AND PROXIMITY ARE CAUSING SEVERAL ONGOING ISSUES: EXCESSIVE LEAF AND DEBRIS FALL: SIGNIFICANT LEAF DROP IS OCCURRING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WHICH REPEATEDLY BLOCKS THE PROPERTY'S ROOF GUTTERS AND DOWNPIPES, LEADING TO POTENTIAL WATER-RELATED DAMAGE. RISK OF FALLING LIMBS: DUE TO THE TREES’ HEIGHT AND SPREAD, THERE IS A CONCERN REGARDING THE POTENTIAL FOR LIMB FAILURE, PARTICULARLY DURING PERIODS OF HIGH WIND. LOSS OF LIGHT: THE DENSE CANOPY IS SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCING NATURAL LIGHT TO THE GARDEN AND REAR OF THE PROPERTY, IMPACTING ITS USE AND ENJOYMENT. SEASONAL NUISANCE (ACORNS): DURING FRUITING SEASON, ACORNS ARE FALLING INTO THE GARDEN AREA, POSING A HAZARD TO CHILDREN PLAYING UNDERNEATH. ALTHOUGH THE TREES ARE NOT LOCATED WITHIN THE CLIENT’S BOUNDARY, IT IS BELIEVED THEY ARE SITUATED ON COUNCIL-OWNED OR UNMANAGED LAND (“NO-MAN’S LAND”). NEVERTHELESS, THEY ARE HAVING A DIRECT AND MEASURABLE IMPACT ON THE CLIENT’S PROPERTY. THE PROPOSED REDUCTIONS ARE INTENDED TO MAKE THE TREES MORE MANAGEABLE, IMPROVE SAFETY, AND REDUCE NUISANCE WHILE RETAINING THEIR OVERALL FORM AND AMENITY VALUE.
