These are essential repair works that require the removal of decayed wood from two existing external timbers and the supply and install of new, pre-treated oak timber to replace the areas that have been removed. Please see attached Timberwise decayed timbers location sketch, photographs of decayed timbers as they are currently and method statement provided by Master Joiner undertaking the works. Please note, the meshing you see on the photographs will not be reinstated - it has been temporarily put in place to stop the current rate of rat and squirrel ingress through the decayed timbers and to mitigate internal damage to electrical cabling as well as the potential health and (electrical fire) hazards to the occupants of Pools Cottage. Repair of these timbers will prevent future pest ingress. The property was unoccupied for c. 12 months prior to purchase by current owners.
