Root barrier - Root Severance Application T1 & T2 London Plane of PRI Arb Report have been implicated in clay shrinkage subsidence damage at 158 West Hill, SW15 3SR As an alternative to tree removal, the installation of a root barrier is proposed to mitigate the influence of the Planes. The root barrier will be 4m deep across the front garden, 8m from the house and 9m from T2 London Plane. This will be installed in conjunction with a piling scheme. The barrier will be installed in the garden area of 158 West Hill and will be excavated within the Root Protection Area (RPA) of the Planes.
