Description

Restoration of an original Georgian fireplace in the Living Room. Removal of current frontage and filler materials (incl concrete, broken stone and brick pieces). Extension of hearth for fire-safety purposes, replacing non-compliant small slate hearth with a larger, herringbone laid, reclaimed brick hearth in keeping with the period of the house. Repair/restoration of fireplace brickwork with reclaimed bricks in keeping with Georgian heritage. Addition of a wood-burning stove to be inserted into the original fireplace alcove with the flue running up the chimney. Addition of a period-style Wooden beam mantle to replace retro-fitted wooden frontage.
