Description

T1 Sycamore Proposed Work: Re-pollard to historic pollard points, reducing the tree to approximately 6?7 metres in height.The sycamore was previously managed as a pollard but has since regrown beyond its historic pollard points. This has resulted in the development of large cavities and areas of inosculation with included bark, significantly compromising the tree?s structural integrity. Given the extent of internal weaknesses and the tree?s location, it poses a considerable risk of failure.The tree is surrounded on all four sides by high-value targets including a car park, a main road, and neighbouring properties. Re-pollarding to the historic points will reduce the risk of limb or whole-tree failure, help retain the tree in the landscape, and allow for future safe management.
