Description

I am writing to formally provide a 5-day exemption notice for the below works to T13 - Large Twin-Stemmed Ash Tree. This mature Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) is exhibiting extensive symptoms of advanced Ash Dieback Disease (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus), significantly compromising its structural integrity. The tree is now categorised as dead/dangerous and poses an imminent risk of structural failure. The tree is located in close proximity to a residential garden area and a garden building, where any failure of major limbs or stems could result in property damage or present a serious hazard to persons using the space. Due to its twin-stemmed structure and extent of dieback, the risk of unpredictable failure is heightened. To mitigate this hazard whilst retaining ecological value, the tree will be sectionally dismantled to a finished height of approximately 6.0 metres, leaving a standing deadwood monolith to support biodiversity in accordance with best environmental practice. Controlled dismantling using lowering and rigging techniques will be employed to ensure safety during operations. All arising material will be processed into manageable lengths and stacked neatly and safely within the adjacent woodland area. The garden will be left safe, clean, and tidy upon completion of works.
