Description
Lime (T1) - tree exhibits advanced internal decay, which was noted first time in 2017, with the lower stem cavity filled with water, indicating severe structural compromise. This condition is consistent with Ganoderma spp. infection, which causes white rot and further weakens the tree?s stability. The tree?s root development is significantly restricted due to the nearby running spring, reducing its ability to anchor securely. The high-moisture environment from the brook and spring exacerbates decay and increases the likelihood of sudden failure. Given the tree?s proximity to two properties and car parks, it poses a significant safety risk, and removal is the only viable option to mitigate this hazard. It is important to replant suitable species such as Alnus glutinosa (Alder) or Betula nigra (Birch) for environmental responsibility.Lime (T3) and (4) - reduction by 2 metres whole aspect of the crown with the maximum diameter of pruning cuts not exceeding 50 mm to minimise heartwood exposure and ensure that the reduction is proportional to the tree's original form. The specified reduction will maintain a healthy leaf-bearing structure, providing the remaining framework can generate adequate leaf cover in the next growing season. Work will result in a natural and symmetrical appearance without solely focusing on aesthetic symmetry, ensuring biomechanical stability. The garden beneath the tree does not receive enough light for the small plants, and the overhanging branches reduce the garden's enjoyment.Could you please reach out to Mrs Jackson? She?ll be able to help you get a better view to inspect the tree. Thank you.
