Description

T001 - 1x Common ash (Fraxinus excelsior) - Ash Dieback Health Class 4: 0% to 25% Poor - 1 Year - Pollard 3 limbs back to the main union with the finishing cuts being made at 9m from ground level. T001 is protected by a woodland tree preservation order: 1971.014 however, the recommendation for removal is considered good silvicultural practice due to the tree being diseased and in severe decline. It will encourage woodland regeneration making space for more resilient species, and biodiversity. The controlled removal of the tree will remove the risk of failure over the garden and fence area. There is argument to leave a standing monolith for ecological purpose, if this is the case it should not be left within falling distance of garden area to 24 Court Road. The removal of T001 will have a minimal impact on the overall woodland amenity value and will quickly be replaced with regeneration.
