Application Details
Description
Western Red Cedar (T1) - fell because of the asymmetrical shape of the tree and the large historical wound that is open for airborne pathogens. Also, the tree had a recent branch failure on the pavement and road with no parking restrictions. Replant with the same species.Cherry (T2) - Fell because a large split crack is noted within the principal union fork and hanging attached branches targeting house and landscaped gardens to high standards. Long longitudinal cracks were noted within the main framework of structural branches. Replant with the same species.Western Red Cedar (T3) - fell because of this it has a significantly unbalanced crown (lean more than 45 degrees) over the neighbouring garden. At the base of the tree, there is a structural defect in the form of a cavity and visible degraded wood. The defect is localised to the southern aspect of the stem, away from the lean. When tapping the stem with an acoustic sounding mallet decay was audible. Due to its position next to the larger neighbouring tree, its visibility from within the wider landscape is limited. Replant with Hornbeam as it is a shaded place from taller plants. There is no access to view the T2 and T3, please ring Mr Shimell to make an appointment.
