Description
T1- sycamore- dismantle. The tree is a twin stemmed sycamore it has previously had a large stem removed near to ground level which has failed to compartmentalise due to the size of the cut, this has now led to a section of the right hand stem when looking from the road to become hollow extending around 2 meters up into the stem. The remaining would is only around 2 inches thick. This stem also has significant damage to the backside of the stem where a lot of bark has been lost. Due to these stems forming a canopy together and growing in unison removing 1 stem wouldn?t be a viable option and could leave the tree posing more risk to the road. The tree is also showing signs of dieback around the tips on the right hand stem which could be down to the amount of wood lost from within the lower section of the stem. Their has also been a significant amount of large broken limbs recently suggesting that the tree is weakened. Please see the photos attached to see the hollowing, previous cut and the 2 stems growing in unison form.
