Description

T1 - x1 Corsican Pine Fell close to ground level and grind out stump.Attached tree report has concluded there is a high risk of branch failure to the pool equipment and footpath to the tennis court.The tree is located directly next to the swimming pool and tennis court, with the pools filtration system directly below the canopy. Ramaria stricta found in the autumn around the base possibly indicating decay in the root system. No cavities or decay observable at the base of the main stem. Wounds on main stem from previous pruning. The top has historically failed or been removed leaving an asymmetrical canopy. Large dead primary limb on southern side at 6m supporting live limb above. Large dead limb to the south east at approximately 5m. Two failed hanging limbs on the southern aspect at 7m, the canopy is now open to wind from the south side, with increased likelihood of limb failure. Horizontal crack in the, now, primary leading limb at 7m approximately 50cm. Leading primary limb rubbing against adjacent primary limb at 7m. The tree managment options are extremely limited, removal of the large deadwood will remove support from the remaining living limbs. Tree has limited viable future.Plant x1 Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) & x1 Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) to BS 8545:2014 from nursery to independence in the landscape Recommendations3 Stake & webbing above support system to be usedA 50mm depth of medium grade bark mulch is to be applied to the surface of the weed free tree pit after planting and watering. Bark mulch to be free of pests, disease, fungus and weeds.Rowan (heavy standard) to be planted as close as practically possible to where the tree was removed.Pine ( Heavy standard) to be planted on the eastern boundary
