Description
G1 Leylandii Cupressus x leylandii - GI is a row of leylandii trees creating a hedge along the boundary of Cleveland Courts garden. They have not been maintained and because of this all the live growth is at the top making them top heavy. They have also grown on an old Victorian wall this has made the root systems very weak. 2 of the trees have also fallen. The neighbours have a busy gardens with a well-used swimming pool. The wall they are growing on has crumbled in areas from the root systems and loose root plates. In order for the builder to make the wall safe he needs to re-build the wall but can't while the dangerous hedge is growing on it. The trees/hedge are approximately 10 metres high.Dismantle the hedge to ground level and replant with a laurel hedge within 1.5m of the existing hedge to keep the aesthetics of having a hedge but far enough away not to damage the new wall or its foundations. Attached is a letter from the builder.
