Description

Crown lift lower branches of Scott's Pine (tree labelled #1) on eastern boundary of property. Lower branches are hanging down rather than growing horizontally or vertically. We are concerned that this is adding stress to the tree and a large bough broke off the tree last year. These branches are also providing additional stress to the tree as they are potentially having a significant sail effect. We would like to remove the branches that are growing out at an angle >90 degrees to the trunk in order to improve the health and longevity of the tree and also improve light levels to north of the tree. We do not believe that this will significantly affect the appearance of the tree in the general landscape as the main canopy of the tree will be unaffected. As the branches are hanging downwards there will be no effect upon the silhouette against the landscape.
