There are plans to plant new trees where appropriate spaces become available. At the moment some of the planting in the park is very densely spaced and some trees are becoming very drawn up and spindly rather than reaching their full potential, quite a number (sycamore, ash and holm oak) are self seeded and are therefore not necessarily in the best positions and may even cause future damage to the boundary walls. It would not therefore be appropriate to plant more trees in these circumstances but better to plant where there are gaps in the canopy.
