Description

Excavations to form a slurry lagoon. Why necessary for agriculture: The proposal is for a lagoon to contain slurry. The lagoon is required to enable the applicants to comply with the slurry storage requirements of the Environment Agency. Why designed for agriculture: The proposed slurry lagoon will be constructed in accordance with the Control of Pollution (Silage, Slurry and Agricultural Fuels Oils) Regulations (SSAFO). The lagoon will be lined with either clay or an impermeable membrane subject to ground investigations and testing. The applicant is require to submit an application to the Environment Agency for SSAFO approval and the EA are required to approve the final design prior to construction.
