Description
Holly (Ilex Aquifolium) - Up to 10% of woodlands population.Clear patches of holly throughout the woodland to increase light to the ground and space for other flora and trees to grow and expand their canopies. Where holly is retained in small, sporadic areas in the woodland, reduce to shrub height through coppicing or crown reduction below the height of other canopy trees. Areas of clearance/coppicing can be tailored in a way to create a small path (~5m wide) in the woodland, encouraging some open space habitat for flora and wildlife to utilise and for improved access purposes.
