Description
There is an area of the property garden next to the roadside (on the left as looking at the property form the road) which is basicly wasteland being grown into a kitchen garden. This application proposes to do the following:1 - Removal of roadside conifer hedge. The hedge is extremely high and deep (approx 2.5m high and 1.2m deep), large patches of it are dead (and so are not green) and isn't safe to maintain - it requires the use of a ladder and electric cutting equipment to trim the top; it also was once obviously even larger as internally it has very thick branches making its maintenance very difficult. The area behind it is the developing kitchen garden and is extremely shaded by the huge hedge.Behind the hedge is a green metal fence, up which suitable greenery is being encouraged (sweet peas for example), so there is no intention of a reduction in greenery. If removal is not appropriate, a reduction in the hedge height would also be preferred (but it being a conifer hedge it may then not grow back once materially reduced).2 - Reduction of overhanging tree branchs. The 3 trees (Ash) immediately behind the kitchen garden have very wide branches that are encroaching on the road and also shading the kitchen garden (these were previously trimmed a few years ago in a previous application). Proposing lateral crown reduction to the south-facing aspect only. Removal of selected primary and secondary lateral branches on the southern side of the crown, cutting back to suitable secondary growth points or natural branch unions. No reduction to crown height or overall tree structure. HAR/CA20, TPO 364E-2, TPO 522W.
