Description
1 Oak (O1) - Whole crown reduction of up to 30% of it's radius. The Oak tree on the property has previously been crown-reduced in height, which has caused it to spread horizontally. To manage this growth and improve the tree's structure, we propose a reduction of up to 30% of its crown radius.1 Birch (B1) - Removal of tree1 Cherry (C1) - Removal of lopsided tree1 Cherry Laurel - Removal of Cherry Laurel, Rhododendrons other overgrown shrubs The vegetation along the boundary at 2 Roseneath has been mismanaged over the years, resulting in overgrowth that now dominates the garden and encroaches onto the adjacent highway in an unsightly manor. Specifically, the overgrown Rhododendron and Cherry Laurel have contributed to an uneven and raised canopy in the Birch and Cherry trees. To reclaim the volume of garden lost to shrubs and implement a new design with a large volume of planting without sacrificing the privacy to the rear of the property and to maintain a screen covering the adjacent highways. The existing trees offer no form of screening and prevent us from being able to replant an unbroken line of mature evergreen trees along the boundary near to the root ball areas in order to create a wall of vegetation. To maintain a sense of privacy and enclosure, the proposed design includes the introduction of evergreen trees along the boundary and deciduous trees throughout the garden. A total of 40 trees will be planted including Magnolia, Portuguese Laurel, Birch and Cherry trees. This replanting aims to restore both privacy for the property and create an attractive scene both within the boundary and when viewed from the highway to fit within the conservation area.
