Application Details
Description
1. The Copse has a, predominantly, confer hedge along the driveway on the east side of the property. A section of around 12 metres has been allowed to grow out of hand. The majority of the boundary hedge has been well maintained at a height of approximately 3 metres. We have consulted a number of local tree surgeons and they all recommend reducing the height of the confers to the existing height on the remaining boundary hedge. We considered pruning back the confers but have been advised, by the tree surgeons, that this is not an option due to the way the confers have grown, we would merely expose brown wood which would not recover. We do not intend to take any action in relation to the healthy yew tree, holly bushes and remaining confers along this boundary.2. There is also an Ash tree growing close to the driveway which has some old natural damage to one side near the base, the tree surgeons have also advised that we remove a single branch which will reduce the weight of the tree.3. Mr Pollard visited the site in 2024 and we discussed the dead confer tree on the front lawned area; we intend to remove this tree and were advised that there would be no issue with this. TPO 128E.
