Description

T1. This a very large magnolia which now dominates the garden and is out of proportion to the rest of the front garden. It has not been pruned properly for over 25 years, although clearly branches have been removed in the past. The tree overhangs next door?s drive and also makes it difficult to grow anything else in our garden.I would like to remove the tree completely and plant a new magnolia in its place along with something like a rowan or cherry along the original hedgeline, closer to the front wall. where there clearly used to be a tree many years ago. This would be in keeping with next door (no 15).T2. This is a holly has grown very tall and, owing to a large conifer which used to grow next to it, it lacks balance and is starting to lean (see pictures). I would like to reduce by a third, making it more in proportion with the front garden and giving a better shape to the tree. This would also be more in keeping with the original line of the trees and would be more appropriate next to the tree planned to replace T1 (see above).T3. This is a laburnum, next to the holly, which is currently barely visible and is not in great condition. Like the holly, it suffered from being overshadowed by the conifer which used to be next door. The tree is now mostly growing through the holly. As with the holly, I would like to reduce the height by a third and get the tree into better shape, as above, creating a more appropriate line of trees along the front border. HAR/CA9.
