Application Details
Description
This updated/new application is in effect an appeal to part of the decision to decline consent for the felling of the diseased Alder ref T12 on the attached plan. The reason given for the decline of approval (DC/089083) in August 2023 is based on an assumption that the premature leaf fall is a one-time event as a result of dry weather conditions in May/June 2023. In reality, the premature leaf-fall has been a feature every year, every week from late Spring, for 5 years or more. If there is any wind then there are many dead small branches and twigs on the lawn. As stated in the previous application, this is not a happy tree, it???s not healthy, it???s diseased. We are not able to determine the type of disease. In addition, we consider this Alder to be hazardous. It is calculated to be 18.3m high and 11.4m from the tree owner???s property. The tree has a significant lean away from the shadow of a neighbour???s very large sycamore. A different neighbour drew our attention to the degree of lean and suggested that we should be concerned, especially because of the direction of the prevailing wind from the SW.We propose to plant a Hornbeam in place of the removed Alder.
