Sycamore - 13 treesAll are self set over a 30 year period in an area which has not been used by visitors. This area is planned to be a forest garden, part of permaculture, this is an environmental garden which will be resilient and sustainable through its diversity in planting. Every plant and tree is selected by how it supports the ecosystem of the garden. It offers diverse food and habitats for wildlife and captures soil based carbon. The sycamores are making this diverse planting not possible due to restricting light and root space. Across the garden and orchard there will be 253 new trees planted in 2024/25.Hawthorn - 2 TreesBoth trees have lifted root plates, so are unsafe.Horse Chestnut - 2 treesBoth are poor specimens with damaged trunks and present a future risk.Portugal Laurel - 1 treeThis shrub has developed into tree size, it is at 45 degree angle and is unsafe with a lifting root plate.Willow - 3 trees All have damaged and split trunks, and present a future risk, there were four trees but the forth smallest one fell in 2023.
