Description

Screening Opinion for Thames Water, for: Proposed works to a total of 15.500m2 of land at Culham Sewage Treatment Works including the change of use of 5150m2 of land adjacent to the existing sewage treatment works. Installation of infrastructure on the proposed additional land including a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) and a gantry above the inlet screen structure at approximately 6-7m above ground level located adjacent to an existing tank of the same height. The treated Flow to Full Treatment (FtFT) increase from 31l/s to 80l/s and total flow to site increase from 150l/s to 211l/s. Clearance of vegetation across both the existing site and proposed extension area to facilitate development (approx. 8,650m2 in total) of which 4000m2 will be lost permanently. Erection of temporary welfare compound to the east of the adjacent land to be removed on the completion of the development. (This area is not within the existing Thames Water Operational site however, the Applicant considers that it falls within the definition of permitted development under Schedule 2, Part 4, Class A of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015
