Application Details
Description
TPO 04S42/G1 Remove major deadwood and crown-lift Hornbeam overhanging garden shed of 14 Milldown Road, to a height of 3-4 metres agl as required, by removal of secondary growth only. Fell runt Lime. This tree has been historically suppressed by two trees. These were a Corsican Pine and Beech, both removed, with consent, well over a decade ago. (They were to the south of the Lime, hence the suppression.) Matt Gulliford was aware that this tree was weak and suggested giving it the benefit of doubt, but if it did not realise its potential, then recommended felling. Unfortunately the leaders have never recovered and indeed are dead. As an individual tree, this Lime has marginal amenity value and it would appear, never will. The owners would like to remove it and replant with another Hornbeam to complement the Yew and Hornbeam already planted, to mitigate its loss and that of the two previously removed trees.
