Description

T1 Norway Maple (Crimson king) - Reduce the height and spread of the tree by up to 1.5 metres, approximately back to previous pruning points. Additionally, carry out a light crown thin of up to 10% to reduce crown density and allow more dappled light penetration, and remove all major deadwood throughout the crown. Reasons for the works: The trees have previously been unsympathetically pruned. A selective crown reduction will allow us to address some of the subsequent crown imbalances. As a result of the previous works, the trees have developed a significant amount of internal epicormic growth. A light crown thin following the reduction will help restore the trees to a form more typical of the species.
