Description

We propose felling the tree for the following reasons: a) It is 20 metres from our house and about 15 metres from our neighbour s garage, so we feel there are safety and insurance issues. b) It is also about 15 metres from an electricity pole. c) The ground around it has dried up quite dramatically this summer, and the tree has shed a huge quantity of needles, killing the grass and plants underneath. d) We have planted several trees in the garden, including a birch tree which is growing out of shape as it struggles for light. It seems unlikely that the previous owners who planted this tree knew how gigantic it would become. It has more than tripled in size during the 29 years we have lived here. We have tried reducing the tree, but it has quickly grown back and continued its upward trend. A tree surgeon recommends felling.
