Description

T1 Mature Horse Chestnut located within the paddock opposite 31 Wharf Road (location - ///spacing.maximum.wove). The tree is approximately 10m in height. A large white bracket fungus has been identified towards the top of the main stem. This is believed to be Polyporus squamosus, which is associated with white rot and subsequent stem delamination. Due to the extent and position of the fungal colonisation, the tree presents a significant structural hazard and has a high potential for failure. Proposed works proposed on safety grounds due to the high risk of structural failure: Fell and remove the Horse Chestnut Grind out the stump Remove all arisings from the site Replant with a suitable replacement species (Quercus Robur (English Oak)) to ensure continuity of tree cover and biodiversity.
