Application Details
Description
T1 Yew- Remove and grind stump. The tree has suffered recent damage during the erection of scaffolding that has left it with unsuitable form and would require pruning that would be detrimental to the long-term health of the tree to rectify. The tree was categorised B1 for retention as part of a recent planning application however given the trees proximity to the proposed works and buildings it may have been more beneficial to remove the tree and mitigate with offset planting in the adjacent land. I believe the trees long term viability is unsuitable in its current location and the new use of the adjacent buildings will cause further issues post development. I am aware that the landscape plan will provide additional planting on the boundary with the road resulting in trees of higher amenity value given their location. It would also be prudent to plant two additional trees in the area identified on the map to offset the loss of the Yew and maintain a continuous canopy cover. Recommended replacement species in this area would be Wild Service Tree and Small Leaf Lime.
