Description

Update to P23/S3718/TCA originally submitted November 2023 and approved without restrictions. One of a set of 6 poplars planted in 2000, the tree requiring surgery is unstable and in imminent risk of falling. On the plan the tree specific to this application is indicated as tree B . When considered as part of P23/S3718/TCA it was decided that removal of the most unbalanced branch would have been inadequate to stabilise the tree. The tree as a whole has now keeled further from its original upright position, the centre of gravity lying well outside the main bole. The root ball is increasingly rising out of the ground and a prop has been installed under one of the branches to prevent an uncontrolled collapse. The works will involve pollarding the three main branches of the tree down to a manageable level to ensure the danger of an uncontrolled collapse is removed. A replacement poplar has been planted to compensate for the loss of this tree.
