Description

Cypress (Monterey) - no. 1) on sketch plan. To be felled. Excessive shading (inc of neighbouring property to North); low amenity value (badly topped by previous owner who once had a tree house in it); soil and water depletion for rest of garden; previous damage to tall brick wall by Castle Lane (cracks which I have repaired, but still potential for further damage). Catalpa bignonioides- no. 2) on sketch plan. To be felled. Crowding with neighbouring trees (four mature cypresses inc one to be felled above) and cherry; poor amentity value (was poorly pollarded by previous owners). Removal of these two trees will give more prominence to other mature trees in the garden that are of much higher amenity value. It will also enable my planned replacement of the two trees with five fruit trees of heritage varieties (apple, plum ,cherry).
