Description

The removal of a Norwegian Spruce to replace with a native tree such as oak. or ornamental tree such as a magnolia or cherry. We believe this will enhance the site and provide a better habitat for wildlife. There are many coniferous native yew trees on the site and therefore we are seeking to introduce a native deciduous tree on the site of this large Norwegian spruce. As you can see from attached photographs, in the 1920s Castle Priory s bank down to the bottom lawn had shrubs rather than trees. We believe this Norwegian spruce was planted as a shrub and has been allowed to grow into a large tree which is not contributing to wildlife or the wider environment.
