Application Details
Description
T1- Wellengtonia (Giant sequoia). Carry out selective branch reduction on any over extended lateral growth to help mitigate the chance of tear out; evidence of tear out is visible using binoculars in the upper crown. All branches to be reduced would be cut back to suitable growth points and reduced by no more than 3-4m (this reduction work would bring the more rangy branches back inline with the majority of the canopy). Crown raise the tree to a height of 5m above ground level to prevent the low crown ultimately touching the ground and to open up the vista. Install a flexible 8 ton brace system at an appropriate height in the crown; two thirds above the lowest fork would be the advisable installation point. While the steel brace already in place is positioned too low in the crown, it is advised that it is retained. TG2- Remove the large pieces of dead wood and climbing inspect the crowns of X3 Sycamore and X2 Horse chestnut trees on the rear boundary of the site. Inspect the crown of the ash tree on the rear boundary for any signs of ash die back
