Description

H1 - Wild plum (Prunus domestica) - This hedge has become overgrown and is overhanging the garden. The hedgerow is now becoming open at eye level as the trees compete for light above. It is proposed to cut the trees down to ground level and to allow them to reshoot to reform a dense boundary hedge. There is evidence that this has been carried out in the past and the trees have responded with vigour, putting on approximately 70cm of new growth in the first year. T5 - Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) - This tree is in declining health, with signs of root decay. It has been outcompeted by the much larger adjacent horse chestnut tree. It should be removed to give space and light to its neighbour.
