Description

Old and deseased apple tree, heavily pollarded. T1 Apple in rear garden. Tree has been heavily managed historically and has a marked lean to the south. There is significant bark death with saprophytic fungus growing on the tension side to the north and cavities in the main stem. Evidence of co-dominant stem having been removed relatively recently. It looks like this may as well have been dead at the time of removal. We have planted a new apple tree close by, and now wish to remove the old tree, as we have concerns about the tree s safety.
