Description

Walnut tree (W1). Trim branches extending north over garden. (Remove the lower five branches back to main trunk, Reduce canopy/crown back to 3m from trunk. This tree "fell over" several years ago but has continued to grow successfully. Over the past 15 years the canopy has expanded considerably to the north, and now casts a shadow (when in leaf) across most of the width of the garden. Due to the uneven growth pattern, the centre of gravity continues to move further from the base, presumably creating ultimately a risk of collapse under its own weight.
