Description
Lime tree in car park and footpath side of Hobbs of Henley. T1 - Lime tree in car park has no indication of disease or threat to the public but is causing significant damage to the road surface due to roots lifting the tarmac which is getting worse over time. Part of the car park tarmac has lifted which has caused a potential trip hazard as one of the tenants previously renting had found out the hard way. Method: fell/remove tree, stump grind stump and re-plant tree in different spot. Road work and repair to car park to be carried out afterwards, without the risk of damaging the tree roots until the tree has been removed. T2 - Lime tree in flower border (leaning towards public footpath). The tree leaning towards the footpath is showing signs of core decay yet with healthy signs of healing around decay hole. The tree also holds fungal disease which is not a good sign as this will lead to root rot whilst leaning towards the footpath. The tree is also causing damage to the tarmac which is an on-going problem for the business owner. My suggestion to the applicant and method; remove/fell the tree to ground level, stump grind stump, replant tree in different location and carry out tarmac repair after, so not to cause damage to the roots as the tree is leaning and could cause the tree to free fall and cause danger of death worst case scenario.
